E. Drew Britcher is a co-founder of Britcher Leone, LLC, and leads the firm’s trial practice, where he focuses on complex medical negligence claims and has successfully prosecuted and resolved matters totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.  In addition, Drew handles other complex personal injury matters.  He is certified by the New Jersey State Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney and has been recertified four times, a reflection of his experience, knowledge and overall skill. To date, Drew has tried nearly 100 cases to verdict and he has served as either counsel of record or amicus counsel in nearly 40 reported decisions of the United State Supreme Court, the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division.

A seasoned litigator and courtroom veteran, Drew is known as a senior stateman among New Jersey’s trial bar and is highly-regarded by clients, adversaries, and the bench alike. He is particularly known in legal circles for leveraging visual tools, as part of his trial strategy for both settlement purposes and presentations to juries.  While he has achieved meaningful success in securing verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients, Drew places even greater value on his ability to help change the lives of his clients.

Throughout his career, Drew has earned accolades that reflect this commitment to his clients: He was selected as a Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyer for 2020 and selected to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America in 2008.   He has been named one of the top 10 attorneys for 2020 by New Jersey Super Lawyers from 2012 to 2016, and 2019 to 2021, and named among its Top 100 from 2006 to 2021.  2021 Marks the 17th consecutive year that he has been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers. In 2021, Best Lawyers in America© also recognized Drew for his work in Medical Malpractice Law-Plaintiffs, and he is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell. He was presented the “Above and Beyond Award” from the American Association for Justice in 2017, the Distinguished Service Award in 2011 and 2020, and earned similar awards from its predecessor, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, in 2009 and 2004. In 1988, at the age of 28, Drew obtained a million-dollar verdict in his first jury trial, for which he was recognized with the “Professional Achievement Award” from the New Jersey Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division. In 2018, Lawyer Monthly also recognized him as Lawyer of the Year - USA in its Legal Awards' Medical Negligence category.

He is a Past-President of the New Jersey Association for Justice, formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey Chapter (ATLA-NJ), and he has served as the Chairperson of their Amicus and Medical Malpractice Committees for over a decade. He is also a Member of the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice.

Drew helped draft the language of New Jersey’s Patients First and Patient Safety Acts, and he is an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law where he teaches courses in Medical Malpractice Law and Medical Malpractice Litigation.

Drew was a founding member of the Board of Trial Lawyers Care, an organization established to provide free legal representation to victims and the families of victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, and under his leadership, the firm has represented more than a dozen families and individuals before the program on a pro bono basis. He is also active in development efforts for the Interfaith Food Pantry, YCS Foundation, the Morris County Youth Shelter and the Jersey Battered Women's Service. A soccer player for 50 years, Drew was a member of the New Jersey/New York Host Committee for World Cup '94.
