Stephen “Skippy” Weinstein Also Recognized By New Jersey Super Lawyers

Glen Rock, NJ, and Morristown, NJ (March 23, 2021) – E. Drew Britcher, Esq., of Britcher, Leone & Sergio, LLC, has been named one of the top 10 attorneys for 2021 by New Jersey Super Lawyers. This year marks the eighth year that Britcher has been honored among the Top 10, the 16th consecutive year he has been named to the Top 100 and the 17th consecutive year that he has been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers. In addition, Stephen “Skippy” Weinstein, Esq., who is Of Counsel at Britcher Leone, was recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers for the 15th year.

Britcher, based in the Glen Rock office, but also available in the Morristown office, leads the firm’s trial practice, where he focuses on complex medical negligence claims and has successfully prosecuted and resolved matters totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Britcher is certified by the New Jersey State Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney and has been recertified four times. He has tried nearly 100 cases to verdict and has served as either counsel of record or amicus counsel in nearly 40 reported decisions of the United State Supreme Court, the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division.

Britcher was also selected as a Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyer for 2020 and selected to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America in 2008. In 2021, Best Lawyers in America© recognized him for his work in Medical Malpractice Law-Plaintiffs, and he is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell®. He was presented the “Above and Beyond Award” from the American Association for Justice in 2017, the Distinguished Service Award in 2011 and 2020, and earned similar awards from its predecessor, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, in 2009 and 2004.

He is a Past-President of the New Jersey Association for Justice, formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey Chapter (ATLA-NJ), and he has chaired their Amicus and Medical Malpractice committees for over a decade. He is also a Member of the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice.

Britcher helped draft the language of New Jersey’s Patients First and Patient Safety Acts, and he is an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law where he teaches courses in Medical Malpractice Law and Medical Malpractice Litigation.

He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, as well as before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He earned a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from Rutgers College, where he has been inducted as a member of the Order of the Barristers and a Loyal Son, respectively. He is a resident of Parsippany, NJ.

Stephen “Skippy” Weinstein

“Skippy” Weinstein, who is available in the firm’s Morristown, NJ, office, has devoted his practice, which spans nearly half a century, to medical malpractice and personal injury matters. Additionally, he has handled all aspects of criminal litigation and has tried to verdict more than a dozen murder cases. Over 40 of the cases he has handled have resulted in published opinions.

Weinstein was previously recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers from 2005 to 2018, including being named among its Top 100 attorneys and its Top 10 in select years. He received the AV Peer Review Rating for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability from Martindale-Hubbell®, its highest ranking of professional excellence. A frequent lecturer at the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education on topics involving demonstrative evidence, no fault insurance, medical malpractice, wrongful death and personal injury cases, he has also lectured at Rutgers Law School and Seton Hall University School of Law.

Admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia, he earned a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.S. from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He resides in Harding Township, NJ.
