April Is National Autism Awareness Month

April is National Autism Awareness Month which promotes autism awareness, inclusion and self-determination for all, and assures that each person with Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is provided the opportunity to achieve the highest possible quality of life. Autism is a complex developmental disability and refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. According to the CDC, autism affects an estimated 1 in 59 children in the U.S. today.
