Britcher Named to Million Dollar Advocates Forum
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GLEN ROCK, NEW JERSEY, October 12, 2000
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum is pleased to announce that attorney E. Drew Britcher of Glen Rock, NJ has been certified as a member.
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum is recognized as the most prestigious group of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, award and settlements. The organization was founded in 1993, and there are approximately 1,800 members throughout the United States. Forum membership acknowledges excellence in advocacy and provides members with a network of experienced colleagues for referral and information exchange in major cases. Members must have acted as principal counsel in at least one case in which their client received a verdict, award or settlement in the amount of one million dollars or more.
Mr. Britcher is a graduate of New York Law School and is a partner in the law firm Britcher Leone, LLC. He specializes in medical malpractice, personal injury litigation, drug and medical device product liability and childhood vaccine compensation claims.
Mr. Britcher’s certification was granted based on his achievement of a $13 million structured settlement, with a present value in excess of $2 million. The settlement was on behalf of a child whose mother received inadequate care from her obstetrician, resulting in a brain injury to the child. As a result of the doctor’s negligence, the child requires special educational and residential consideration. The settlement enabled his family to provide him with the specialized care he requires.
Although this case was the basis for Mr. Britcher’s certification, it was not his first, nor his last, qualifying verdict or settlement. Mr. Britcher achieved his first million-dollar verdict in his first trial in 1987. In that matter, he obtained a $1.2 million verdict on behalf of a 67-year-old woman who lost her leg to a doctor’s negligence. Mr. Britcher obtained this award by convincing the jury that her injury impacted her more than it would impact a healthier person, despite the fact that she had already been partially paralyzed by an earlier stroke. Mr. Britcher was believed to be the only attorney in the United States to obtain a $1 million verdict in his first trial. Having been only three months beyond his 28th birthday at the time of that verdict, he was also believed to have been the youngest attorney in the United States to have ever obtained a $1 million verdict.
Subsequently, Mr. Britcher has obtained more than half a dozen additional verdicts or settlements in excess of $1 million for his clients. In conjunction with his partners Armand Leone, MD, a board certified Radiologist, his firm provides representation for seriously injured individuals who have suffered from the negligence of doctors and others, or as a result of various product defects.
Mr. Britcher has also recently been distinguished with the designation of an AV rating from the national legal directory Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest available rating provided by that publication. This distinction was also granted to the firm of Britcher Leone, LLC.
