Our Operations During the COVID-19 Crisis
We hope this finds you and your families healthy and adjusting to the limits required to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our commitment to our clients’ health and well-being has always been a cornerstone of our practice, and the same is true today in these more trying times. At the same time, our lawyers and staff are parents, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, and dear friends that we consider family. We are keenly-focused on the safety and well-being of our family members around us and the public in general.
Long before COVID-19, we had individuals who occasionally or fully-worked remotely. As such, we were able to quickly develop a comprehensive plan for having our whole firm work remotely that would allow us to remain in contact with our clients, the Courts and counsel, as well as conduct interviews, meetings, arbitrations, mediations and even court appearances remotely, using technology such as Zoom, Skype and Teams.
That plan has been implemented in full force and allows us to ensure the safety and well-being of our attorneys and staff in both our Glen Rock and Morristown offices, while continuing to seamlessly serve our clients and efficiently handle all incoming inquiries and outgoing communications. Our phone system allows you to call our offices and have the call connected with whichever attorney or staff person you need to reach. We are following our e-mail, just as we have when we were in our office.
Jury trials are on an indefinite hold and arbitrations have been adjourned while the court works out the arrangements for them to be conducted remotely. However, our investment in technology and prior planning allow us to keep matters moving forward without jeopardizing anyone’s safety today. We have already conducted remote depositions and mediations and have more on the rise. We will work with everyone to make this as seamless as possible.
No one knows when we will return to business as usual, but until that time, we will continue to monitor this evolving situation and implement appropriate policies and procedures so that we can continue to advocate for our clients and use alternative ways to conduct business under these challenging circumstances without compromising anyone’s health or safety.
These are uncertain times, for sure, and we truly understand how concerned our clients and their families must be about how this virus may impact someone near and dear to them. This, coupled with the financial strains so many are experiencing as a result of a loss of employment and a sputtering economy, make for some very stressful times indeed. Know that we are taking the steps necessary to make your legal matter not a part of that stress.
In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy, our friends!
