Stephen “Skippy” Weinstein Recognized By New Jersey Super Lawyers For 15th Consecutive Year

Glen Rock, NJ, (April 3, 2019) – E. Drew Britcher, Esq., of Britcher, Leone & Sergio, LLC, of Glen Rock and Morristown, N.J., has been named one of the top 10 attorneys for 2019 by New Jersey Super Lawyers. This year marks the 15th consecutive year that Britcher has been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers. Stephen “Skippy” Weinstein of Britcher Leone has also been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers for the 15th consecutive year.

This year, New Jersey Super Lawyers named Britcher, Co-Founder and Head of Britcher Leone’s trial practice, to the Top 100 for the 14th consecutive year Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney, Britcher has successfully prosecuted or resolved hundreds of complex medical negligence, products liability and other personal injury claims and has served as either counsel of record or amicus counsel in more than 35 reported decisions of the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of New Jersey and New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division.

AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell®, Britcher was named among New Jersey Super Lawyers’ Top 10 from 2012 to 2016; one of the 500 Leading Lawyers in America by Lawdragon Magazine, and among the “Best of Bergen” by 201 Magazine. In addition, he has received numerous awards for his service to the American Association for Justice, as well as its New Jersey Chapter. In 2015, he was honored with a “Professional Lawyer of the Year” Award by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law.

An at-large national governor of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), he has served as Past-President of the New Jersey Association for Justice, where he currently chairs its Amicus and Medical Malpractice Committees and has done so for over a decade. Britcher was a founding member of the Board of Trial Lawyers Care, an organization that provided pro bono legal representation to victims and families of victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. He also helped draft the language of New Jersey’s Patients First and Patient Safety Acts and is an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School, where he teaches courses in medical malpractice law and litigation.

He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, as well as before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He earned a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from Rutgers College, where he has been inducted as a member of the Order of the Barristers and a Loyal Son, respectively. He is a resident of Parsippany, NJ.

Weinstein, who is Of Counsel at Britcher Leone, advises on trial strategy and is focused on business development at the firm. He is certified by The Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil (1982-present) and Criminal (1982-2018) Trial Attorney. Over the course of his 50-plus-year career, Weinstein devoted his practice to medical malpractice and personal injury matters including wrongful death, serious personal injury, brain injury, birth injury, product liability, construction accidents, automobile accidents, and slip and fall accidents. Additionally, he handled all aspects of criminal litigation and has tried 14 murder cases (including one capital murder case) and obtained nearly 40 published opinions.

In addition to being recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers from 2005 to 2019, Weinstein was named among its Top 100 attorneys and Top 10 in select years. He received the AV Peer Review Rating for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability from Martindale-Hubbell®, its highest ranking of professional excellence. A frequent lecturer at the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education on topics involving demonstrative evidence, no fault insurance, medical malpractice, wrongful death and personal injury cases, he has also lectured at Rutgers Law School and Seton Hall University School of Law.

Admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia, he earned a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.S. from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He resides in Harding Township, NJ.
